Earth's Earth Day Message

The Earth has been sending us increasingly urgent messages. But not enough human "Giants" are listening.

Parts of the Earth are out of patience.

"You idiots!" says RocQuête. "Look what you're doing to your own home!"

"Some of you actually seem to think money--of all things!--makes you immune to the consequences of your actions."
Can you buy a new planet once you're finished trashing this one?"

"You think you are smarter than me? You think I am 'just a rock'--that I am just some tiny thing, all by myself, not part of the mighty Earth?"
"As if such a separation were even possible!"

"What is even more ridiculous--you think YOU are separate from the Earth."

"How? What do you think you are standing on? What do you think has been supporting you your entire life?"

"You IDIOTS!"

"You know, Earth has ways of dealing with species that become too much trouble."
"When was the last time you saw a live T-Rex?"

"Know what I'm saying?"

"So if you want to avoid the dino treatment, it's time to ACT:

"The Earth has supported your kind for millenia.
It's time for your kind to support HER."

Beastly Day Without Women

Some of the male Beasts I live with were initially alarmed and saddened at the thought of a "Day Without Women"...

...as a true "Day Without Women" is as impossible as half a sky:

Once the concept of the Women's Strike was explained to them, the wise Beasts were relieved--and saw the justice of it immediately.

So they decided to find a way to celebrate the female Beasts and Beings they know.

The female Beasts and Magical Beings, meanwhile, were observing solidarity with their "Giant" (human) sisters.

As denizens of the Magical world, they are not oppressed, so they have no need to strike. They decided the best thing they could do for the "Giants" was to model happiness and harmony with the Earth.

So they just did things they usually do.

Yolanta and Whimsy celebrated early sprouts, and shared plant lore.

Phlox showed her sister Periwinkle something beautiful.
"Cicada shell!"

Rocquette and Paradoxy lounged in the sun and traded secrets.

Meanwhile, Friend and Burlie were toting gifts...

...and stayed just long enough to drop them off, leaving the females to continue enjoying their day.

But the Beastly Day Without Women was now even nicer--thanks to the show of appreciation and love.

Plus, now they had seat cushions...

...and a nice, soft mattress.

Happy International (Giant) Women's Day!

A Thought in the Dark

DARKNESS is a scary thing.

It tries to terrify us.

But we will lose, and it will win,

If we allow it to divide us.

Beastly Achievements

The 50 Beast Show was a Resounding Success!

Of the 50 Beasts, only 2 remain who are looking for a new home!

The Beasts who live with me (not surprisingly) have persuaded several of the 50 to come stay with us.

The New Arrivals are settling in nicely. I'll introduce you to them all in due course.

One guy who made his presence felt immediately is:

WinsTon, the Achiever Dude.

(He chose the name WinsTon
because he says he always
WINS! Tons!!!)

He has already made quite a splash in the neighborhood!

...Though he does not always meet with the success he expects.

But he never gives up!

He just...well...goes on to his next project!
"If it ends badly, it isn't the end!"

One day, while he was out and about, his Creator, the Goddess Jennifer Russell, happened to see him...
And do you know? She did not recognize him! She merely thought to Herself, "That's a very fine Beast!"

(Which of course he is.)
Perhaps she got so close to her Creations in the making, she lost perspective...

...and needed some distance...

...to really SEE:
She finally SAW him. And THEN she recognized him. And saw that...yes, he IS!

I tell you this story because I think we all need to do that. We get so close to what we work on that we cannot truly see it. So we cannot evaluate it. Let alone judge it. (Which we should never do.)

We need to learn to let it go. It is only when we can release our work, and forget it began as part of us, that we can really SEE it.

We can learn from this Goddess: Set our work free, then look at it afresh without attachment.

SEE it.
