Beast-Parents Day: Mothering

Like some of us human "Giants," not all Beasts have mothers.

(Beasts and other Magical Beings, apparently, aren't always created in quite the way we "Giants" are.)

This is not to say Beasts don't have parents. But, rather than being born to them, Beasts have to find them. Or be found by them.

And they are very good at that. They find Mothers in many places:

In Nature:

In Art:

And in one another. For they Mother very well.

They offer comfort...

They teach valuable lessons...

They listen...

...and sometimes offer advice...

...or support...
...or just love.

They find good books...

...and read them aloud...

...and in the scary parts...

...they offer a helping hand.

When their friends fall...
...they try to be there to catch them...

...and if they can't, they help them up.

They give love and care to us human "Giants," too...

They harvest healthy wild foods...

And they honor their Mother...
...the Earth.

The Beasts and Beings
Send special Mothers' Day love to human "Giants"...
Who are motherly, whether mothers or not...
Who wish they were mothers...
and
Who miss their mothers.

The Beasts are BACK!!!

The Beasts and Beings have been having adventures without us the past few months. (They said some other "Giants" photographed them in their travels and promised to send copies. If we ever get these pix, I will post them.)

The Beasts decided they wanted to be here for the glorious spring. (And of course we are very glad to have them back!)

Friend, in particular, was excited to greet the return of some of his perennial pals.

He looks forward to their re-emergence every year...

...and enjoys watching them grow...

...and GROW!

Beastly spring, all!
