Some of the male Beasts I live with were initially alarmed and saddened at the thought of a "Day Without Women"...
Once the concept of the Women's Strike was explained to them, the wise Beasts were relieved--and saw the justice of it immediately.
So they decided to find a way to celebrate the female Beasts and Beings they know.
The female Beasts and Magical Beings, meanwhile, were observing solidarity with their "Giant" (human) sisters.
As denizens of the Magical world, they are not oppressed, so they have no need to strike. They decided the best thing they could do for the "Giants" was to model happiness and harmony with the Earth.
So they just did things they usually do.
Yolanta and Whimsy celebrated early sprouts, and shared plant lore.
Phlox showed her sister Periwinkle something beautiful.
"Cicada shell!" |
Rocquette and Paradoxy lounged in the sun and traded secrets.
Meanwhile, Friend and Burlie were toting gifts...
...and stayed just long enough to drop them off, leaving the females to continue enjoying their day.
But the Beastly Day Without Women was now even nicer--thanks to the show of appreciation and love.
Plus, now they had seat cushions...
...and a nice, soft mattress.
Happy International (Giant) Women's Day!
